The find… Unley Road’s latest trendy café, serving scrumptious breakfast and lunch.

The crowd… Love delicious and original food, then Pickle in the Middle is for you.

The inside word… With an organic, made-from-scratch, earthy approach to food – Pickle in the Middle is a winner.

This café is ‘truly local’ with tableware handmade by the artists at the Adelaide Potter’s Club (located on Edmund Ave in Unley), and a fit-out designed by another Unley local Enoki.

Pickle in the Middle has adopted a back to basic approach to food, complemented by a simple and salvaged café space, which reflects the sustainable ethos behind their menu.

Owner Karah Hogarth said the café makes everything by hand and loves supporting local.

“We have a plant-centric menu and make almost everything in-house ourselves, from our pickles to our beet-cured salmon to our unique hand-crafted beverages,” she said.

“We also run pickling and fermenting workshops where people can learn the basics of this wonderful home food production technique.”

The menu is a little out of the ordinary and truly delicious, with favourites including eggs on toast and the chia bowl with house-made almond-cashew milk.

The café also produces all drinks on site with specialties such as a cascara soda, made using dried coffee cherry and a super refreshing turmeric tonic!

The team at Pickle in the Middle are both friendly and welcoming and even better many of them are local Unley residents.

Pop in today to say hello and grab a bite to eat at this superb café! You won’t be disappointed.
